Muscle research rewarded

Muscle research conducted within the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism at the Faculty of Medicine has been widely recognized at two scientific conferences.

At the Swiss meeting on muscle research that took place from 16 to 18 November 2025 in Macolin, three of the four poster awards went to members of the Department: Eleonore Parisel, from the laboratories of Dr Thomas Laumonier and Prof. Arnaud DidierLaurent for her poster entitled "Decoding the inflammatory role of human skeletal muscle in mRNA vaccines induced reactogenicity", Florent Chabry and Gaëtan Lopez from the laboratory of Prof. Perrine Castets for their poster entitled "Characterization of mitochondria remodeling following muscle denervation" and Loann Laubry from the laboratory of Prof. Maud Frieden for his poster entitled "STIM1 promotes sustained Ca2+-entry via PMCA1 activation, enhancing skeletal muscle differentiation".

At the Journées de la Société française de myologie that took place from 19 to 21 November 2025 in Aix les Bains, the best master thesis award went to Gaëtan Lopez from the laboratory of Prof. Perrine Castets for his thesis entitled "Caractérisation du rôle de CtBP1 dans la réponse du muscle squelettique à la dénervation".
