Marica joined the lab in 2013 as research assistant. She started her PhD in Neuroscience in 2014 under the co-direction of the Prof. Stephan Eliez and the Prof. Marie Schaer. The aim of her project is the research of neural biomarkers of psychosis in patients with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome using multimodal MRI (T1-weighted images, resting-state fMRI and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)) and pattern recognition.

Marica obtained her Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences at the “Università degli studi del Salento” in 2011. She then obtained, in 2013, a Master Degree in Neuroscience at the “Universita di Pisa”. During her master project je worked on a method to quantify motor neurons in the spinal cord of mouse models.
