Professor Patrycja Nowak-Sliwinska obtained her PhD in 2006 from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. She did her post-doctoral work at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and at the Angiogenesis Laboratory of the VU University Medical Centre in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She obtained the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Management of Biotech, Medtech and Pharma Ventures from EPFL/UNIL, Lausanne, followed by her habilitation venia legendi in Biochemistry in 2014. In the same year, she was awarded an EU Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship for career development. In 2016, she received a prestigious European Research Council Starting Grant and joined the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the UNIGE as an assistant professor. Her molecular pharmacology laboratory works on personalised optimisations of multi-drug combinations based on phenotypic testing and data modelling. Professor Nowak-Sliwinska is currently vice-president of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Western Switzerland (ISPSO), member of the board of the Science Innovation Hub of the Faculty of Science (UNIGE) and member of the steering committee of the CRTOH. She is the author of four patents and over ninety peer-reviewed scientific publications.
