Small group teaching – Basic workshops for tutors in the Bachelor and Master programs

The workshop, presented in three phases, is designed to provide a basic training in small group tutoring to the new teachers enlisted in the Bachelor (Year 1 to 3) and Master teaching program (Year 4 to 6).

Phase A consists of two sessions: one session common to all tutors in the Bachelor and the Master program and one which addresses tutors of the two programs separately.

  Introduction to the role of the tutor

Familiarize the participants with:

  • The Faculty’s overall curriculum content and design and the curriculum organization and management infrastructures
  • The pedagogical and cognitive bases of problem-based learning (PBL)
  • The role of the tutor 

  Observation / Participation in a tutorial session with an experienced tutor

  Debriefing

  • Round table discussion and debriefing of participants’ experiences and observations gathered during phase B
  • Familiarize participants with the process and forms of the students’ evaluation of the tutor and the tutors’ evaluation of the students
