Culture of quality, the UNIGE benchmark

The development of a "quality culture" within UNIGE enables it to constantly improve its efficiency and to ensure, strengthen and consolidate its excellence in its missions of teaching, research and services to the community. These missions are based on its quality charter and on respect for its ethical values, from which the operating rules and activities of the university community as a whole are derived. It is on this basis that the quality culture is expressed through the actions of all the University's staff who, through this vocation of excellence, pushes them to redouble their efforts, stimulate their creativity and constantly strive for the best. The University relies on these strengths to meet the demands of its environment, particularly the globalization of higher education and research systems which leads to increased competition and the multiplication of quality specifications.
In this context, both the University's Strategic Plan and the Objectives Agreement with the State of Geneva are based on general objectives, most of which refer to the notion of quality.
Thus, the Rectorate has embarked on a continuous improvement process guided by its quality policy, which is based on individual contribution and a systematic approach to prevention and evaluation.
