Visit of the scientific attachés of the European Union and representatives of the European institutions |
On an official visit, the objective was to present the Swiss market of research and innovation. Around forty scientific attaché of the member states of the European EU and representatives of European institutions came to Geneva on April 20th. Geneva and the UNIGE, bridges between Europe and Switzerland, appeared as a strong area of innovation and research in the Life Sciences as well as in the Human and Social Sciences. The visit of the Campus Biotech and its laboratories was followed by a guided tour of the Bodmer Foundation where the team of the Bodmer Lab presented its works in digital humanities as well as collections of the museum. |
ESFRI visit in Geneva |
On June 2nd and 3rd, the Swiss Confederation hosted the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures – ESFRI to the Campus Biotech Geneva. The strategic visit took place in collaboration with the EPFL and SNSF. |
SME mandate - Euresearch |
The Research Service organised an event “innovation and Life Sciences” on April 26th in the Campus Biotech, in collaboration with Inartis Network. Some 60 SMEs from the Geneva area were informed on the various funding sources at a European and CTI levels. |

Infosheet « H2020 Project management » |
A new infosheet summarizes the H2020 project management key points, and in particular the legal/contractual reference documents and the financial follow-up rules (cost eligibility, reporting, audits). |

New simplified timesheets H2020 |
Timesheets are mandatory for all staff paid on H2020 projects funded by the European Commission or the SERI. The template has been simplified in a coordinated effort between Research Services, DIFIN and DIRH, for an easy use and meeting the formal requirements. |
Example of CERN-UNIGE collaboration in European projects |
The “Future Circular Collider Study” (EuroCirCol) project coordinated by CERN with 16 partners from 9 countries explores the post-LHC era. Prof. Carmine Senatore of UNIGE-Physics is one of the key partners in this ambitious H2020 Research Infrastructures Design Study. |

ULB Individual Fellowship |
ULB opens a call for applications to host 10 post-doctoral fellows, for a period of 12 months each. The University of Geneva is one of the privileged partner of the ULB and will therefore be given priority. |
SNSF - Marie Heim-Vögtlin | MHV grants are aimed at female doctoral students and postdocs in Switzerland who had to interrupt or reduce their research activities due to family commitments. Thanks to MHV grants, candidates can boost or re-start their career with a research project of their own and improve their scientific profile. |

In order to stimulate advances in the areas of vulnerability and life course studies, the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research LIVES (NCCR LIVES) encourages early career scholars to apply to the LIVES Best Paper Award 2016. The winner will be granted a sum of 2000 € and invited to join the Society for Longitudinal and Life Course Studies (SLLS) conference. |
