Professor Jean-Marc Triscone is Vice-Rector of the University of Geneva in charge of buildings, logistics, and security as well as sustainable development. Between 2001 and 2007 he was Deputy-director of the National Center of Competence in Research MaNEP. Between 2007 and 2014, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Geneva.
Jean-Marc Triscone is a professor in the Physics section of the Faculty of Science, and leads a group working on correlated oxide heterostructures and oxide interface physics. The goal of this research is to develop, by design, artificial materials with new properties or functionalities. This work has led to over 200 publications. He has been a Fellow of the American Physical Society since 2006. In 2013 he obtained an ERC Synergy grant to further the development of quantum materials. He was recently awarded, with Harold Hwang and Jochen Mannhart, the 2014 European Physical Society Condensed Matter Division Europhysics Prize “For the discovery and investigation of electron liquids at oxide interfaces”.
