Micheline Louis-Courvoisier is Vice-Rector responsible for education and training as well as continuing education. She is a historian and a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine. Since 2001 she has been developing a program in Medical Humanities. As her team has grown over time she has been able to integrate into the Faculty of Medicine courses, both required and elective, in the fields of History, Literature, Philosophy, and Art History. In recent years her research has focused on the experience of melancholy in the 18th century as it is described in medical consultation correspondence. She has also served as Director of the Maison de l'histoire, an interdisciplinary center at the University of Geneva. She has served as Vice-Rector since 15 July 2015.
