Taline Garibian est maitre-assistante à la Maison de l’Histoire depuis 2021. Elle est en outre chercheuse associée à l’Institut des Humanités en Médecine (Unil/CHUV) et au Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities (Université d’Oxford). Spécialisée en histoire contemporaine, ses domaines d’intérêt comprennent l’histoire de la médecine et des sciences, l’histoire des guerres, des violences et des génocides, ainsi que l’histoire du genre et des sexualités. En 2017, elle a soutenu une thèse de doctorat en co-tutelle (Université de Lausanne et Université Jean-Jaurès de Toulouse) qui porte sur l’histoire de la sexologie en Suisse romande. De 2017 à 2021 elle était research associate puis British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow à l’Université d’Oxford où elle a poursuivi un projet de recherche sur l’histoire des violences de guerre et la médecine légale et enseigné dans le cadre du master en histoire européenne contemporaine.

A l’Université de Genève, elle travaille à un projet de recherche intitulé Anatomy of Violence. Forensics Science and Genocide in the Aftermath of the WWII, tout en participant aux activités scientifiques organisées par la Maison de l’Histoire.

Taline Garibian is a lecturer at the Maison de l’Histoire since 2021. She is also an associate researcher at the Institute of Humanities in Medicine (Unil/CHUV) and a visiting fellow at the Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities (University of Oxford). Specialised in modern history, her areas of interest include the history of medicine and science, the history of wars, violence and genocide, and the history of gender and sexualities. In 2017, she completed a dual PhD at the University of Lausanne and the University Jean Jaurès of Toulouse. Her dissertation focuses on the history of sexology in French-speaking Switzerland. From 2017 to 2021, she was a research associate and then British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford where she conducted a research project on the history of war violence and forensics and taught in the master's program in Modern European History.

At the University of Geneva, she is pursuing a research project entitled ‘Anatomy of Violence. Forensics Science and Genocide in the Aftermath of the WWII’, while participating in the activities organised by the Maison de l'Histoire.
