Julia is a PhD candidate and research associate at the Institute for Economy and the Environment at the University of St. Gallen and an external PhD student of the Renewable Energy Systems group at the University of Geneva. She is co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Evelina Trutnevyte. Her research areas include sustainable decision-making and energy policy with a particular interest on social acceptance of renewable energy. Julia has obtained a Bachelor degree in Economics & Management Science from Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. After her Bachelor, Julia worked at the Bank of Montreal and did a 5-month internship at Navigant Consulting, in the Energy Practice. She has joined the Institute of Economy and the Environment in 2016 in the context of the European Union-funded Horizon 2020 research project "Empower - Local Electricity Retail Markets For Prosumer Smart Grid Power Services", where she has worked on developing new business models for the energy market. She worked on the project in parallel with her studies at the University of St. Gallen where she obtained a Master degree in Economics.
