Swiss Research Data Day 2018
Mandated by swissuniversities P-5 "Scientific Information" Programme, the DLCM project (Data Life-Cycle Management) aims to develop data management services for the Swiss scientific community. Eight institutions and nearly 50 researchers participate in this initiative: EPFL, ETHZ, HEG/HES-SO, UNIBAS, UNIGE, UNIL, UNIZH and SWITCH. The project deliverables focus on the research data life-cycle, with the provision of resources dedicated to guidelines and policies, active data management, long-term preservation, support, training and education; and the dissemination of this expertise through the organisation of national days and the exchange of good practices.
The Swiss Research Data Day 2018 will take place on June 12th 2018 at ETH Zurich, Audi Max.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Olivier Verscheure from the Swiss Data Science Center
- Ernst Hafen from MIDATA
- Sarah Kenderdine from EPFL
- Donat Agosti from Plazi GmbH
The full programme and registration will be announced early May, so watch the dlcm.ch website!
The University of Geneva, who is leading the DLCM project, is developing a generic tool that will enable researchers to meet the preservation and open data requirements of the funding agencies, particularly the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). It is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2018. Please contact the e-Research Team at if would like to participate in the pilot phase of the project, or join us in Zurich on June 12 at the Swiss Research Data Day 2018 for more information on the progress of the project.
If you cannot join in Zurich but would like to let us know about your research data management needs at UNIGE, we invite you to complete this survey (in French).
And, in case you missed it: the issue 132 of the UNIGE Journal Campus is dedicated to research data, with an interview of Dr. Pierre-Yves Burgi about the DLCM project, which he manages.19 May 2018
