Marlyne Sahakian est docteure en études du développement (2011) et professeure associée en sociologie à l’Université de Genève, spécialisée sur la thématique de la consommation dans une perspective de durabilité. Sa recherche est axée sur le lien entre gestion des ressources, pratiques sociales du quotidien et équité sociale, avec comme approche principale la sociologie de la consommation. Elle dirige actuellement une programme Master sur la durabilité et le changement social. Elle est membre fondatrice de SCORAI Europe, un réseau de recherche et actions en consommation durable, et est co-chair (depuis 2019) du réseau de recherche en consommation de l’Association européenne de sociologie (RN05).
