Conference: "Public Opinion and Foreign Aid", 11-12 February 2019
The Public Opinion and Foreign Aid Conference hosted by Simone Dietrich at the University of Geneva and co-sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Princeton University’s Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance, and the University of California at Davis gathers a diverse group of social scientists and practitioners to better understand determinants of public support for foreign aid in donor markets and recipient countries.
The conference has three goals:
- It aims at connecting research communities across disciplines and methodological approaches, presenting cutting-edge research on Public Opinion and Foreign Aid.
- It seeks to reduce the transmission channel between research and policy/advocacy by asking researchers and practitioners to engage with policy implications of featured research.
- It serves as a platform for practitioners to articulate research questions that are pressing to them and require research and evidence.
