My student status

All questions regarding your admission (immatriculation or exmatriculation) should be addressed to the admissions office.

I would like to be admitted to the University of Geneva, what should I do? Is there a deadline?

You will find all this information at the Admissions Service. to register .

I would like to quit my studies, is this possible? Can I quit anytime?

You need to visit the admissions office or contact them via their platform.

Please note that you are not allowed to quit your studies during an exam session!

I need a confirmation that I am a registered student, whom should I contact?

The student office does not provide such confirmations. You can print a confirmation of registration from your student portal (for the last 20 semesters) or contact the Admissions Office.

For any other confirmation regarding your studies at the Faculty of science, please send an email to the student office.

Some documents can be provided in English, however we do not translate grade transcripts.

The student office does not issue any confirmation for future semesters beyond the current semester.

I would like to apply for a leave of absence, what should I do?

Please download this form and return it, duly completed and signed, to the student office one month before the start of the semester.

I need my student number, where can I find it?

Your student ID number is your immatriculation number (n°SIUS).

It is on your student ID card, on the left hand side.

I have lost my student ID card, what should I do?

My student card does not work, whom should I contact?

I am having problems with the payment of my taxes. Whom should I contact?

I have not received the payment slip for my taxes yet, is this normal?

I have received my tax payment slip but it mentions Bachelor even though I am now a Master student, what should I do?

When the payment slips where printed, the database had not been updated yet. You can still pay the taxes using the payment slip.

My address has changed, what should I do?

You can modify your address directly on your student portal via "Mon UNIGE" -> "Données de contact étudiants" -> "Adresse".

You can also complete this form and return it to the student office.

Note: if the University of Geneva employs you as an assistant, you have to modify your address on your HR portal . It will be approved by the HR department.

My name has changed, what should I do?

You must communicate your new address to the admissions office through their plateform.

Note: if the University of Geneva employs you as an assistant, you need to contact L. PAREDES GAETE from the HR department by email .
