Geneva Physics in the top 20 of the Shanghai ranking

The Physics Section of the University of Geneva has a great tradition of excellence both in its research, as evidenced by the growing number of scientific publications, and in its teaching. In addition, the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to researchers Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz, from the Department of Astronomy, proving indisputably the avant-garde and visionary nature of the research conducted at the UNIGE.

This excellence is illustrated by the Section's very good position in most international rankings, in particular in the Shanghai Ranking 2021, where it enters the top 20 universities in the world for the first time, reaching to 18th position (the first in Switzerland).
