David CONSUEGRA is a civil engineer from the University of Ottawa, Canada, and works in the field of rainfall run-off modeling and flood risk assessment. In 1992 he obtained his Ph.D. at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) in the field of flood control and risks mitigation. Since 1992 he is a research supervisor of the Hydrology and Water Resources Group at the Soil and Water Management Institute of the EPFL. His activities involve flood control master drainage planning, flood mapping and risk assessment, applications of GIS for flood mapping and impact assessment. He also teaches in hydrology, risk analysis. From 1999 to 2002, he was the Director of "HydroNat S.A.", Geneva and Vetroz, a company dealing with river and aquatic habitat engineering. From 2003 to 2013, David CONSUEGRA has been working as a scientific director in B+C SA, a company strongly active in river engineering and reclamation, land management and development and rural and urban drainage systems. Since 2013, David CONSUEGRA is appointed as Professor at the Territorial Engineering Institute of School of Business and Engineering Vaud.
