Blaise DUVERNAY holds a degree in civil engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Stanford University. He is currently the head of the coordination center for earthquake risk mitigation of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment where he has been working since 2002. Prior to that, he worked on projects related to geotechnical engineering, flood analysis and hydraulics constructions in a private company for 5 years, before moving to California for 3 years, where he specialized in earthquake engineering and risk analysis.
