Geothermal drilling in Geneva: Outreach activity for the Energy Transition

In occasion of the Open Day organised by the Services Industriels de Genève (SIG) and the Canton of Geneva for the kick-off of second GEO-02 geothermal exploration well being drilled now in Lully in the framework of the GEothermie2020 program, the University of Geneva hosted several booths where explanation of local geology ad geothermal processes were offered to a very numerous and interested public. 

The Department of Earth Sciences is deeply involved in this program, developing a large set of national and international research projects. The Geo-Energy group had the pleasure to represent the research community by sharing experiences, knowledge and innovative ideas contributing to the energy transition.
