MY RESEARCH

My PhD project, in co-direction between the Department of Earth Sciences of Geneva University and the Department of Hydrogeology and Geothermics of Neuchâtel University, Switzerland, consists in the deep subsurface geological and structural characterization of the Greater Geneva Basin as part of the “GEothermie 2020” program of the Geneva state, which aims at developing deep geothermal energy in the Geneva area.

Seismic and well data, outcrop analysis, compiled with previous work over the area are integrated in 3D geological models of various (local and regional) scales. More particularly, my work emphasis on the understanding of regional tectonics and stress field evolution through time, trying to best characterize the development of fractured zones within key geothermal reservoir units. Along with an associated PhD project on rock-typing held at University of Geneva (Elme Rusillon), these studies aim at identify and characterize potential reservoir formations for future development of deep geothermal energy.

In parallel, I also contribute to the establishment of the Geneva-Savoy pilot model for the GeoMol project, in collaboration with the French Geological Survey (BRGM). This project consists in the establishment of a large-scale 3D geological model of the Mesozoic and Tertiary series over the entire alpine molasse foreland basins.
