Best Idea Contest

Presentation

The best idea contest takes place annually as part of the Geneva Entrepreneurship Week. It allows candidates to test their entrepreneurial idea before a jury of professionals and receive a feedback in real time.

The competition

The competition is open to students and collaborators from the University of Geneva, the HES-SO Geneva and the Graduate Institute. It is also open to alumni of these three institutions up to three years after completing their studies.

It takes place in a relaxed atmosphere. All candidates meeting the above conditions may participate.

2016 competition jury

The top ten projects selected by the jury are rewarded at the closing dinner of the Entrepreneurship Week. Prices vary from year to year and usually include free places in co-working spaces, free coaching sessions, etc.

After the competition

During the 4-6 months following the competition, the laureates of all years are invited to participate in the "Meet-Ups" once a month. These are informal sessions that include a short presentation of a topic useful to entrepreneurs and a time for discussion and exchange.

The team

The competition is organized by Unitec, the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Geneva, the HUG, the HES-SO Geneva, and also by student associations: the AIESEC and the GSEM Committee. The jury is composed of representatives of industry, academic institutions and Geneva institutions supporting entrepreneurship.

Partners

Partners of the competition can participate to the jury and offer prizes. The list changes every year.
