Student Meeting / ISCHE Price

POST-GRADUATE STUDENTS AND EARLY CAREER SCHOLARS MEETING

The organizers of ISCHE 2012 welcome you to Geneva.
An activity will be organized specifically for post-graduate students and early career scholars at the upcoming conference in Geneva. We have organized a special lunch-reunion on June 28th at 13-14.30 hrs.

The aims of this reunion are:

  • Create a contact list with personal and academic information for each one of us in order to identify common interests and to stay in touch.
  • Exchange ideas about increasing our participation in ISCHE.
  • Exchange relevant information especially related to possible student exchanges (summer courses, short stays in other countries, etc), support and research grants, calls for publishing in journals (including the Paedagogica Historica prize for students and new scholars), and job opportunities.
  • Present a short panel on publication opportunities and tips with specialists in the area.

Lunch will be provided. The location will be announced on the forthcoming program. If you have any questions, please contact the post-graduate student representative: Damiano Matasci,

ISCHE CONFERENCE PAPER PRIZE

The ISCHE Conference Paper Prize Award is given for the best paper presented at the ISCHE Conference by an early career scholar or post-graduate student. Information about how to submit a paper for the prize will be announced.

The ISCHE Conference Paper Prize may be published in the conference special issue of Paedagogica Historica or a general issue with acknowledgement to ISCHE Conference.

Contact: Damiano Matasci,

Process for determining ISCHE Prize

  • Students should revise their shorter paper presentation to a full paper, as if submitting to a journal. The deadline for the submission is August 30, 2012. Please send your paper to the student representative Damiano Matasci:
  • The local organizing committee in Geneva selects 5-8 papers from the conference by Post Graduate and early career scholars.
  • The local committee will send their recommendations to the Paedagogica Historica editor. A group consisting of the editor (Ian Grosvenor), ISCHE President (Eckhardt Fuchs) a second member of the Executive Committee, and the postgraduate student representative (Damiano Matasci) will read the submitted papers and select a winner. That group will advise the winner of necessary changes and development that might lead toward publication either in the conference special issue, or in a general issue, as appropriate.
