What is the focus of the Lake Geneva Innovation
Society ?
The Lake
Geneva Innovation Society fosters privileged collaborations between
academics at the regions leading universities and institutes and
members of the private sector. It does this by promoting closer
contacts between academic researchers and Swiss and foreign
industrialists. Over the past two years, the annual dinner has focused
on the regions strengths in the life sciences, namely the disciplines
of genetics and molecular biology, bioengineering, oncology,
bioinformatics, neurosciences and clinical research. It is planned
that future events will also address the region’s considerable
competencies in nanotechnology, physics, chemistry, psychology,
linguistics as well as other key capabilities that the regions’s
scientific and research institutions have to offer.
Who attends the events of the LGIS ?
Past dinners of the Lake Geneva Innovation Society
have been attended by leading academic
researchers, industry representatives and decision
makers, venture capitalists, bankers and other
professionals from the public and private sectors.
How often do you hold events ?
Currently,
on an annual basis. It is planned to build on
the success of this event by holding further
similar dinners throughout the year with different
technology and research themes reflecting the
