Alexandre Cionca is a doctoral assistant in the Electrical Engineering and Neuro-X institute at EPFL. He graduated from EPFL with a specialisation (minor) in Computational Science and Engineering focusing on data science and statistical learning. As part of the COVID-COG project at the CENLab, he worked on all-around data processing and analysis with a particular spotlight on computational and statistical modelling of functional MRI in the unravelling of long-term neuropsychological effects following a SARS-CoV-2 infection. He later did his mandatory civil service as part of The Axon Lab led by Dr. Oscar Esteban in an initiative to evaluate the reliability of clinical MRI workflow that routinely aids medical decisions at CHUV. He recently joined Prof. Dimitri Van de Ville's group as a PhD student to work on the detection of communities within a graph with directed edges (or connections) as well as the applications of the directed graph signal processing (dGSP) framework to better understand the communication between brain regions.
