Welcome to the Molecular Bacteriology Laboratory
|
Our laboratory focuses primarily on the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an opportunistic pathogen capable of developing resistance to antibiotics, particularly in the presence of metals such as zinc and copper. We aim to understand the molecular mechanisms linking these metals to antibiotic resistance and bacterial virulence, with the goal of identifying new strategies to combat associated infections. In parallel, the laboratory provides microbiological expertise and analytical services to the scientific community and external partners, notably in the context of discovering new antimicrobial compounds. We are also strongly committed to science communication and public outreach, through various activities promoting life sciences and microbiology. Finally, the group is actively involved in teaching bacteriology to students in biology and pharmaceutical sciences, contributing to the education of future researchers and professionals in the biomedical field.
