He is an experienced researcher and is co-author of the recently published ICJ Practitioners’ Guide on Refugee Status Claims Based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. Published in February 2016, the Guide provides both legal and practical interpretative guidance on these types of asylum claims addressed especially to legal practitioners representing refugee claimants; authorities charged with refugee status determination; judges presiding over claims to refugee status; and government officials drafting asylum policy guidance and instructions. The Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association in England, the UNHCR, asylum judges and others welcomed the Guide as a valuable resource and contribution to this area of refugee law.
