Our NMR facility is equipped with two spectrometers (300 and 400 MHz) in free access for routine analysis and one 500 MHz spectrometer dedicated to research and samples to be run on a service basis by qualified members of the NMR team. More about each instrument can be found here.
As a new NMR user within the Organic Chemistry Department, you will be required to take a training session for both NMR instruments in free access.
These training sessions range from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your experience. To register for a training session, you can contact Marion Pupier or Stéphane Grass.
Please note that NMR training is only provided for internships of at least six months. For shorter internships, the student remains under the guidance and responsibility of their team supervisor.
The aim of this training session is to give information about our NMR service, use policy and to provide instructions enabling users to conduct their own NMR measurement in a collaborative atmosphere.
After the training session, you will be provided with your login details which will allow you to:
- Book time on our Spectrometer booking system online
- Login to your NMR account to use the spectrometers
- Download your NMR data from the NAS academic data server
All of our spectrometers are networked and your data can directly be downloaded from the NAS academic data server.
Please note that your data will remain on the spectrometer hard disk for a limited time only.
Spectrometers are not to be used for data processing. Everyone can have access to Bruker's TOPSPIN software and we have a license for Metralab's Mestranova software packages for this purpose.
We will be glad to discuss about any problematic involving NMR and to help with specific requests, so please feel free to come and talk to us in our office R1.
Good luck with your research!
