Stephan Auerbach – Pedagogical Manager
Stephan Auerbach is the pedagogical manager of the CAS. Mr. Auerbach is an FSM-certified mediator specializing in family mediation and works as a family mediator at the Protestant Office for Marital and Family Counseling in Geneva. He also serves as Secretary General of the Swiss Association for Family Mediation.
Mr. Auerbach worked for many years at International Social Service Switzerland (ISS), where he was involved in addressing child abduction cases and developed continuing education modules for the ISS global network. He practices and teaches child-focused mediation as developed in Australia and has long advocated for the introduction of a parental consensus model in Switzerland. He regularly teaches at Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences in his areas of expertise.
Mr. Auerbach holds a degree in theology from the University of Fribourg (1996) and a continuing education certificate in International Human Rights Law from the University of Geneva (2001). Before joining ISS in the field of children’s rights in 2004, he worked with organizations defending the rights of migrants and refugees and combating racism. During that time, he began training in mediation as an appropriate dispute resolution tool (ADR) and gradually specialized in this field.
