Arrival by plane: Milan Malpensa (MXP)

The Milan Malpensa Airport (IATA-Code: MXP) is the largest of the three airports in the Northern Italian metropolis of Milan and the second largest airport in Italy. This airport can be also be reached from many airlines as well as from many locations in Europe.

After arriving at Milan Malpensa, you can either take the train or the shuttle bus.

The fastest train (one change) in the direction of Cadenazzo leaves from Terminal 1 at 07:50 a.m., 01:50 p.m., 03:50 p.m., 05:50 p.m. and 07:50 p.m. You change in Cadenazzo for the train to Locarno.

A second possibility of getting to Locarno is to take the shuttle bus “Malpensa Express” (http://www.malpensa-express.com/) to the last station of Castione-Arbedo. It is recommended to reserve a seat over the website of the bus company.

The shuttle bus leaves from Terminal 1 (Exit Gate No. 4, Parking 5) and from Terminal 2 (Parking 4) every hour between 08:40 a.m. and 10:40 a.m., every two hours between 12:40 p.m. and 08:40 p.m. as well at 02:05 p.m., 07:40 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. In Castione-Arbedo take the train to Locarno. There are connections every 20 to 30 minutes.

At 11:00 a.m. and 02:50 p.m. there is also a bus to Domodossola. There you change for the train to Locarno.

The entire traveling time from Milan Malpensa airport to Locarno is min. 2 hours 30 minutes.

On the day of arrival, May 20, 2018, there will be a free shuttle bus from the Locarno train station to the Hotel Complex and Conference Center Monte Verità at 01:40 p.m., 02:20 p.m., 03:00 p.m., 03:40 p.m., 04:20 p.m. and 05:00 p.m. (max. 11 persons per trip). The meeting point for the shuttle is on the right side of the train platform in Locarno (see image below).

On the day of departure, May 23, 2018, at 02:00 p.m., 02:40 p.m., 03:20 p.m. and 04:00 p.m. participants will be able to take the shuttle bus to Locarno free of charge.
