Heurist is a highly flexible, web-based data management system designed for humanities researchers, enabling the creation, organization, and analysis of complex databases without requiring advanced technical skills.
Developed by the University of Sydney, Heurist allows users to define custom data structures, import and link diverse sources, and visualize relationships through maps, timelines, and networks. Its intuitive interface and collaborative features make it especially useful for research projects involving historical, archaeological, or cultural datasets, supporting both individual scholars and interdisciplinary teams in managing and publishing their data efficiently.
The Faculty of Humanities runs a shared Heurist instance for humanities research projects.
