Eric Wilczynski is currently working in the “Urban and Regional Energy Systems” group at the Institute for Renewable Energy at Eurac Research in Bolzano, Italy since April 2020. Since April 2021, he has been enrolled as an external PhD candidate working jointly with the Copernicus Institute of Sustainability at Utrecht University and the Chair of Energy Efficiency at the University of Geneva where he is investigating energy flexibility and demand response potential in building and urban energy systems. He holds a B.A. majoring in both Economics and Environmental Analysis & Policy from Boston University (2015) and an M.S. in Energy and Earth Resources from the University of Texas at Austin (2017) where he also conducted research for the UT Austin Energy Institute on electric utility business models. Prior to his move to Europe, he gained experience in the utilities industry in southern California.
