Laura C Rodrigues is a professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She graduated in Medicine in Brazil, and has an MSc and PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Current research is both substantive and methodological, based mostly in the UK and Brazil and main areas include tuberculosis and leprosy; she has substantial record of funding and publications, with an H index of 41. She participated in funding and policy international bodies, and is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Since the Zika virus epidemic, Prof. Rodrigues has been involved in the research in this field, particularly in the effort to define the risk, spectrum and evolution of the Congenital Zika Syndrome
