Rajna Gibson Brandon elected to the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank

GFRI's Professor Rajna Gibson Brandon has been elected to the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) on Friday 29 April 2022.

In October 2021, the SNB proposed Professor Gibson Brandon to be elected to the SNB Bank Council for the remaining term of office ending 2024. The proposal was accepted at the General Meeting of Shareholders on 29 April 2022, and Professor Gibson Brandon succeeds Monika Bütler, effective 1 May 2022.

The Bank Council is made up of eleven members and oversees the conduct of business by the SNB, as regards compliance with the National Bank Act, as well as regulations and directives.

A recognizable figure in finance and academia, Rajna Gibson Brandon is a Professor of Finance at the University of Geneva and founded the Geneva Finance Research Institute in 2009. She was the Director of the National Centre of Competence in Research in the field of "Financial Valuation and Risk Management", funded by the SNSF, from 2001 until 2009, and has previously served on the board of directors at Swiss Re and Banque Privée Edmond De Rothschild.

 

She currently teaches the courses “Advanced Investments” and “Hedge Funds" in the Master in Wealth Management and in the Master of Advanced Studies in Finance.
