Professors Eva Cantoni and Giuseppe Ugazio have been recognized for the quality of their teaching at the Geneva School of Economics and Management. This recognition is part of the School's introduction of two new awards to honor the engagement and impact of Faculty members.

The jury, chaired by Professor François Grey, Vice-Dean for Studies, includes the Director of the Bachelor program and the Directors of the Master’s Programs. The awards replace the GSEM Teaching Award and complement the GSEM Prize for Pedagogical Innovation, which annually honors exceptional teaching initiatives.

Professor Eva Cantoni received the "GSEM Teaching Engagement Award" for a project conducted in the Master in Statistics. In this project, students used ChatGPT to perform data analysis according to predefined rules, followed by a critical report. This initiative introduced modern analytical tools while encouraging critical thinking on the use of artificial intelligence in the field of statistics. Doctoral candidate Anna Van Es and the Pôle SEA of the University of Geneva supported the implementation of this initiative.

Professor Giuseppe Ugazio received the "GSEM Teaching Impact Award" for his micro-certification project within the course “Collaborative and Inclusive Philanthropy.” This innovative format, shorter than a traditional CAS, offers between 1 and 9 ECTS credits and can be delivered online, making the program accessible to an international audience. Supported by the University of Geneva and recognized by institutions using the ECTS credit system, this course is designed to maximize its global impact. Professor Ugazio developed the project with Daniele Castle and Laetitia Gill, Co-directors of the MAS in Philanthropy, and with the support of the philanthropic organization Porticus.
