4EU+ Students Shine at the SDG Olympiad 2025

Since its launch in 2024, the SDG Olympiad has become a global stage for students to collaborate on innovative solutions to the world’s pressing challenges. This year’s edition brought together over 700 students worldwide, united by one mission — to make the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) a tangible reality.

After months of refining their prototypes and testing real-world solutions, 14 teams reached the finals and gathered from 10 to 14 October 2025 to present their projects to an international jury of experts. Among these young innovators, two 4EU+ teams stood out with remarkable achievements.

Students from Heidelberg University, the University of Copenhagen, and the University of Geneva brought home top distinctions:

  • Gold Medal – Community-Based Action Plan for T1D Children (UCPH & UHD)
  • Special Award “Tech for Impact” – Health Data Navigator (UNIGE)

As a sponsor of the event, the 4EU+ Alliance continues to foster international collaboration and empower students to turn creative ideas into impactful action. The competition not only celebrated innovation but also the spirit of teamwork across borders.

“It’s really inspiring to see how passionate people are about their project, their goal and their own community. They also have a vision to implement these solutions worldwide. In my opinion, you gain a lot of experience in the international environment.”
- Tony Alnasri (Heidelberg University)

“Coming to Geneva is exciting – especially meeting people from all over the world, learning about other projects, how differently we think and focus, with the same end result to make the world better.”
Anniken Høeg Halvorsen (University of Copenhagen)
