Welcome Bag

This student led initiative aims to build partnerships between the students enrolled in the Geneva School of Economics bachelor program of the University of Geneva and the Geneva and Swiss social and economic ecosystem surrounding it. Concretely, through these partnerships we aim to provide new students with a welcome bag offering them essential items (e.g., a calculator, notepad, a power bank, a water bottle, etc.) for the start of their student life and at the same time  introducing them to institutions where they may decide to work in the future. When starting into a study program, this welcome bag can help to complement GSEM's existing efforts to inspire new students and establish community by creating a sense of identity.

What we have already done :

We first circulated a form among the students to determine what the wants and needs were for a first year at the university. After about 50 responses, we narrowed down our choices to about 10 items that we and the students felt were useful and relevant. At the same time, we estimated the budget needed per bag in order to fund all the desired items.

We are currently in the most crucial phase of our project, which is fundraising, in order to start financing and producing the objects as soon as possible. For this, we are contacting different sponsors and donors to set up our project by gathering interested partners.

Our vision for the Welcome Bag is precise and depends on the funding we will get from companies determined to support the GSEM and our project.

The bag would be a tote bag with the logo of the faculty, as well as our biggest partners. It would contain various stationery items needed for studies such as an agenda, pens and many others, as well as a water bottle, a portable battery and various things to eat and drink.

You will find a document detailing the different types of sponsorship we offer and the benefits they bring to you down in this page. For example: you will be mentioned as a partner during the welcome ceremony at the beginning of the year 2023, mentioned on our web page on the university's website. It is also possible to add your logo on the bag or on any other object that is part of the bag.

Please don’t hesitate to look at our attached sponsorship document for visual and numerical information if you have an interest in this project and want to support us.
