Biomedical Sciences

The Master in Biomedical Sciences aims to prepare students with a Bachelor's in biomedical science or an equivalent training, for a career in the health-care industry, and more specifically in the area of drugs and medical-devices development. It also paves the way for a career in the food industry and biotechs, or in genetics and cutting-edge genome technology. Students may continue their training with a PhD.

The first-year programme comprises both theoretical and practical classes taught by academics and industry experts. Science courses are supplemented by topics such as corporate strategy, ethics, pharmaceuticals law and science communication. Students get an overview of the biomedical industry and acquire the skills they need to work in multidisciplinary teams.

During the second year, students must complete two internships to full-time in a professional environnement, either in Switzerland or further afield: a research project to be carried out in a research laboratory (public or private) and an internship to be carried out in an industry or institute.
