Following on from the Bachelor's degree in Russian Studies, this Master's program aims to give students the expertise and critical thinking skills needed to analyze Russia's past and present, beyond clichés. It includes advanced language courses, literature courses focusing on specific works or more general themes, courses in Russian and Ukrainian history, with analyses of sources and reflections on specific historical issues, as well as courses in linguistics and the history of language. During the Master's program, students will write a research dissertation in one of three disciplines: history, literature or linguistics. Although stays in Russia have not been possible since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, exchanges are still possible with universities offering Russian studies courses in Central Asia, the Caucasus and Europe.
1.5 years (3 semesters)
Except for disciplines involving modern languages (Spanish, Italian, English and German), where courses are offered in the relevant language.
