Zoom tutorials

The Zoom videoconferencing platform makes it possible to give or follow live classes online, run webinars and organize online collaborative activities.

The University of Geneva has acquired a "Campus" licence allowing unlimited use of this platform by professors/instructors, students and UNIGE staff.

The Zoom UNIGE platform is accessible via https://unige.zoom.us/, using an ISIS login. When first attempting to connect, click on "Sign-In" to configure your account (see tutorial 0 below). Useful ressources and tutorials in English are also available on Zoom's own support page.

Special tools for live teaching to a large number of students (over 100) such as "large meeting" and "webinar" are available upon request to professors/instructors, please contact zoom(at)unige.ch

Zoom can also be used by professors/instructors to record their full classes or short video clips, which they can then broadcast to students (including useful tools such as PowerPoint sharing, whiteboard, local or cloud recording, etc.).

17 February 2022 - The lifting of the sanitary measures announced by the Federal Council on 16 February marks a full return to normal for the spring 2022 semester, with in person teaching. Wearing a mask is no longer compulsory but remains possible for those who wish to do so. The Covid certificate or the UNIGE negative test certificate are abandoned for all University activities such as access to classrooms and auditoriums, the library and cafeterias, participation in public events, etc. Compliance with barrier measures (hand hygiene, ventilation, and disinfection) remains essential.

3 February 2022 - The teaching of the spring semester 2022 will take place in-person while ensuring the availability of their contents at a distance, in continuity with the previous semester. From 3 February 2022, teleworking is no longer compulsory but recommended.
