GFRI Celebrates the GEMFIN Class of 2023

On October 28, GFRI held its 2023 commencement ceremony, to celebrate the achievements of its 18 Geneva Master of Advance Studies in Finance (GEMFIN) graduates.

The GEMFIN Class of 2023 was joined by loved ones, who traveled for the auspicious occasion, and by esteemed faculty and dedicated university staff.

Dr. Michal Paserman, Co-Director of the GEMFIN, opened with a warm welcome to the graduating students, their families and friends. Prof. Olivier Scaillet, Director of the Geneva Finance Research Institute (GFRI), and Prof. Harald Hau, Director of the GEMFIN congratulated the participants, reinforcing the challenges financial professionals face

 

The Graduation Student Address was delivered by the GEMFIN representative student, Mr. Christoffer Ulander, who shared insights from his own learning journey.

 

The Commencement Speaker, Dr. Gero Yung, Chief Economist of Mirabaud, gave an inspiring  and compelling speech, sharing from his own learning path.

Yaru Shan, shared from her personal learning journey at the GEMFIN too.

 

The Geneva Finance Research Institute confers awards to distinguished individuals, as a way to recognize academic excellence and significant contribution to our community through outstanding acts of leadership.

This year, during the ceremony, the GEMFIN Leadership and Community Service Award was presented to Flo Garcin, Sibo Kwakwa and Justine Natuplag, for their significant contribution to our community.

The winner of the GEMFIN Academic Award was Qianyu Yang, for his strong academic performance.

 

The Graduation Ceremony was followed by lunch at the Parc des Eaux-Vives hotel, overlooking beautiful Lake Geneva.
