FAQ and tips

GREENHEVA (Green.Healthy.Geneva) wants to create a giant Plant Assembly to support the greening of Geneva.
This approach aims to promote the integration of natural environments in the city in order to positively impact the living environment and the mental health of city dwellers.
Our "Plant Assembly" will be constituted by a gigantic assembly of flowers, where each plant, cared for and brought by the participants, will represent the support of the citizens to green Geneva.

To participate, take care of a plant now and bring it to the Plainpalais Plain on 26 June. You can take your own plant or order seeds for free on our website.
If you are really motivated, you can get involved in many other ways: become a volunteer, sign the Urban Climate initiative, share your ideas on how to green the city etc.

Don't hesitate to contact us!

The Plant Assembly will take place on the Plainpalais Plain on 26 June.
You can drop off your plant between 10am and 2pm.
Between 5pm and 7pm, come and swap your plant with another one!

It's totally free! You can order seeds for free and create your own pot with recycled materials. On this site find all the instructions to create a pot with a tin can. It's quick and easy!

Finally, participating in the Plant Assembly is also free.

It lasts 1 day: the Plant Assembly is ephemeral; it is a symbolic movement.
The plants placed on the Plainpalais plain will be collected at the end of the day by the participants, offering shelter and food to pollinating insects.

We invite you to drop off your plant on the Plainpalais Plain on June 26, between 10am and 2pm.

Between 5pm and 7pm, you can come and pick up another one whose colour, species or pot inspires you. Our approach is based on participatory, solidarity and ecological principles. In this perspective, we encourage participants to exchange their plant for another one; nature belongs to everyone, it has no owner!

We support the Urban Climate Initiative, which aims to tackle the causes and consequences of climate change by reducing CO2 emissions from motorised traffic and developing vegetation to combat heat islands.
We hope that the strong symbolic impact of our Plant Assembly will bring new voices to this initiative, leading to a positive environmental effect that is enshrined in law and in time.
However, any participant in the Green Mosaic is free not to support/sign the initiative.

... and why not make the movement permanent?
Due to sanitary measures, large-scale citizen movements are impossible: this is an opportunity to rethink forms of expression and civil participation, for example by demonstrating with plants!
What if 26 June became the day of plant demonstration, with a giant plant swap?

The Plant assembly is a symbolic call to green Geneva. It is a student initiative that is not associated with any political party.
We also support the Climat Urbain initiative which aims to tackle the causes and consequences of climate change by reducing CO2 emissions from motorised traffic and by developing vegetation to combat heat islands.
However, any Plant Assembly participant is free not to support/sign the initiative.
