Maria-Pia Victoria-Feser appointed Honorary Professor of the GSEM

Professor Maria-Pia Victoria-Feser was appointed in 2001 as Full Professor of Statistics and Probability in the Business Administration section (HEC) of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (SES) at the University of Geneva. A graduate of the University of Geneva, she served as Dean at the time of the creation of the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) in January 2014, a position she held until 2017, while being affiliated with the Research Center for Statistics, now renamed the Research Institute for Statistics and Information Science (RISIS).

Her research focuses on statistical inference methods with applications in fields ranging from the social and economic sciences (econometrics) to the experimental sciences (biostatistics). In particular, she develops methods in robust statistics, model selection, resampling techniques, for high-frequency time series, generalized linear models, mixed linear models, and generalized latent variable models. Part of her research has been funded by public bodies such as the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Economic and Social Research Council in the United Kingdom.

She is currently Full Professor at the University of Bologna in Italy.

Professor Victoria-Feser has been appointed Honorary Professor of the Geneva School of Economics and Management at the University of Geneva as of June 1, 2025.
