Sebastian Engelke Appointed General Co-Chair of the Climate Informatics Conference 2026

GSEM Professor Sebastian Engelke has been appointed General Co‑Chair of the 2026 Climate Informatics Conference, which will be held from 27 to 30 April 2026 at the University of Lausanne.
Climate Informatics is an international community and annual event that brings together experts in climate science, statistics, and machine learning to advance data‑driven approaches to understanding the Earth’s climate system. The conference fosters cross‑disciplinary collaboration and promotes innovation in climate research.
Sebastian Engelke is a Professor of Statistics at the Research Institute for Statistics and Information Science. His research interests include extreme value theory, risk assessment, spatial statistics, and machine learning. His publications have appeared in prestigious journals such as the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Biometrika, and Annals of Statistics.
