KAKUMA REFUGEE CAMP


Established in 1992 in north-western Kenya, Kakuma and the neighbouring Kalobeyei Integrated Settlement host a diverse refugee population from across East and Central Africa. Since 2012, InZone has worked with refugee-led teams and local partners to expand access to higher education and strengthen opportunities for refugee learners.

Hub Manager

Almarat Arnu Ngutulu is from Sudan and had over 8 Years of experience working in Kakuma Refugee Camp across different sectors. "I am happy to use this experience now to help my fellow Refugees access higher education at InZone that would see them develop professionally as well."

Almarat supervises and manages the InZone project in Kakuma Camp. He manages the academic planning, human resources and the operational activities of the team.

Francophone Academic Coordinator

Vianney Mpitabavuma is from Burundi and is a Francophone Academic Coordinator. He was a former languages teacher in KRSS at JRS, WIK and LWF.
