Certificates of Open Studies are a new academic format specifically designed for people on the move.

Based on the format the format of Certificates of Advanced Studies - CAS) in terms of their duration (250 hours on average for 10-12 university credits), pedagogy (applied studies, structured around student projects) and intensity (achievable in one or two semesters and compatible with a professional activity). However unlike a CAS, the COS will be open to refugee students with no academic or professional prerequisites.

The COS are also unique in that they are co-constructed with partnering national universities, student groups and humanitarian organisations present in the camps and employing refugees in their respective sectors.
