Mathilde studies the climates and observability of small rocky exoplanets. She uses the Generic-PCM, a three-dimensional Global Climate Model (3D GCM), to simulate the atmospheres of temperate to hot terrestrial planets, investigating how variations in atmospheric composition shape climate diversity and surface conditions.

She also explores the detectability of these worlds using the high-contrast imaging, high-resolution spectroscopy technique designed to observe exoplanets in reflected light, assessing how atmospheric and surface properties influence their observational signatures. Her work allows to prepare for future instruments such as VLT/RISTRETTO, ELT/ANDES and ELT/PCS.
