Biography
Rui obtained his PhD degree in astrophysics in 2018 from the Instituto Astrofisica Canarias (IAC, Spain), under the supervision of Prof. Ismael Pérez-Fournon, working on gravitational lensed Lyman-alpha emitters and dusty star-forming galaxies at high-z, selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and Herschel Space Observatory, respectively. From 2018 and 2020 he was a post-doc at the Centro de Astrobiologia in Madrid (Spain) working on JWST simulations of very high-z star-forming galaxies. In 2020, he joined the Geneva Observatory to work in the "Starburst in the Universe" group led by Prof. Daniel Schaerer.
