Sonia Allegretti

Passionate about science and its applications, Sonia obtained a PhD in Industrial Engineering (2004, University of Perugia) and a DAS in Marketing Strategy, Communication and E-business (2016, GSEM Geneva). 
Throughout her career, she has facilitated collaboration between academia and industry, working at CERN and its spin-offs in high-energy physics and medicine (2000-2006), as well as at Rolex SA (2006-2016), where she led strategic and innovation projects for new product development. After managing European projects at CERN (2017-2022), she became a consultant for the European Commission, where she contributes to the evaluation of the potential of future Horizon Europe projects. 
In July 2025, she joined the Unitec team to promote technologies in the physical sciences.
