Description: This course will introduce students to the connections between climate change and health. The content material provides a framework to understand the basic mechanisms of climate change and the extent of its impacts on human and animal health, identifying the connection between planetary challenges and local threats. Role-playing exercises encourage the practice of thinking systemically, adopting holistic perspectives, and working with creativity and collaboration to find immediate and long-term solutions.

Description: This course provides a basic knowledge of the disease outbreak investigation process using the COVID-19 pandemic as an example. Theoretical foundation will be provided to participants to support outbreak management in their local communities. The content is divided into two main chapters: 1) Introduction to Outbreak Investigation and 2) Infection Prevention and Control in Acute Respiratory Infections for Health Workers in Low and Middle-Income Countries.

Have you chosen the course(s) you are interested in? Here are the few steps to follow to register:

Prepare your application in advance so that you can complete the steps mentioned below before the application deadline of the partner university. Please note that the number of places available in the courses is often limited.

Careful! Not all partner universities have the same academic calendars. Application deadlines are therefore specific to each host university. Please make sure you follow them (information available above).

Verify that:

  • You are registered at the UNIGE at the time of the exchange;
  • You meet the admission requirements for the course (language level, study level, academic prerequisites, etc.);
  • The course is compatible with your study programme (timetable and workload). Be aware: online courses take the same amount of time as regular courses. Please note that some courses are taught at a specific time (information given in the course description). Also check the date of the exam - the semesters of the partners are not necessarily aligned with those of the UNIGE.

Contact your academic advisor in your faculty to ask about the possibility of recognising the credits of Virtual Exchange courses in your study programme.

Please use the 4EU+ Learning Agreement document (below) in order to submit your application.

At the end of your Virtual Exchange course, please send the transcript of records issued by the partner university to your academic advisor at UNIGE for validation and recognition of the credits in your curriculum.

Please fill out the 4EU+ Learning Agreement (download below) with your faculty advisor, and then follow the detailed instructions on the relevant course sheet, accessible on the 4EU+ Student Portal.

Please note that you are responsible for informing yourself in advance and agreeing with your faculty before registering. In order to recognise credits, you will be asked to provide a proof of agreement with your faculty when you register.
