Enrolling in the dual Master's degree in law at the Universities of Geneva and Luxembourg means choosing an excellent education, designed to train lawyers capable of working in key areas of business and finance law, as well as in essential complementary branches of contemporary law.
This unique two-year programme (120 ECTS) leads to two Master's degrees, one from Geneva and one from Luxembourg, thereby enhancing the academic and professional recognition of students.
The first year of study takes place at the University of Geneva, a leading academic centre in the field of law. Geneva is home to numerous international organisations, making it an ideal location for understanding the dynamics of international law and global regulation. It is also a global hub for wealth management, offering an ideal environment for in-depth study of banking and financial law. Students have a wide choice of courses and write a Master's thesis, enabling them to develop in-depth expertise on a subject of their choice.
The second year of study takes place at the University of Luxembourg, in the heart of the European Union, close to the Court of Justice of the EU and the European Investment Bank. Luxembourg is not only a global centre for investment funds, but also a recognised academic hub for business, banking and financial law, ranked among the best internationally.
In addition to its strong focus on banking and finance law, the programme offers attractive specialisations in European law, economic criminal law, business law and tax law. This diversity allows students to build a truly personalised course of study, tailored to their interests and career plans.
All courses, taught in Geneva and Luxembourg, are delivered by recognised experts and offered in French and English. This multilingual dimension reinforces the international outlook of the programme and prepares students to work in multilingual and transnational legal environments.
By choosing this dual Master's programme, students acquire a rare and sought-after dual skill set: a mastery of the specifics of Swiss law, connected to international markets, and an in-depth understanding of European law and its regulations. This dual Master's in law is therefore a trump card for an international legal career at the crossroads of business law, finance and major European issues.
