Closure of the 3 locations of the Uni Bastions site June 18 until August 7

2022 is an important milestone in the renovation project of Uni Bastions. On August 8th, the Espace Jura of the Uni Bastions site of the Library will open its doors after 4 years of works.

From 2022 to 2027, the Uni Bastions site of the Library will then  operate from 2 locations: Espace Jura and Espace Battelle. The Philosophes building will only house the collections of the researchers of the Institute of History of the Reformation.

During this period, the Central building will be undergoing renovation until 2027.

The opening of the renovated  Espace Jura implies the relocation and reclassification of nearly 150,000 documents, which were held, up until now, in three different  locations: Battelle, Central and Philosophes. In order to move these collections, the three locations will have to close for 7 weeks, starting from June 18 until August 7. This implies that collections of the Uni Bastions site will not be accessible during this period, neither for consultation nor for loan. The other sites of the Library (Uni Mail, Uni Arve, Uni CMU) will remain open.

The are special arrangements for access to the CUI collection (Espace Battelle).

To anticipate on this closure, we advise you to :

ANTICIPATE on loans you might need. As a reminder, loans are automatically extended 5 times (as long as the document is not requested by another user), which corresponds approximately to a 6 months loan.

CHECK your library account on swisscovery on a regular basis to check the expiry dates of your current loans. As a reminder, it will be possible to return documents to other Library sites (Uni Mail, Uni Arve, Uni CMU) within their opening hours.
